With a new route planned, this year's Making Strides of the Adirondacks gets set to take place this Sunday.

Get ready to walk in the fight against breast cancer.

The Making Strides of the Adirondacks, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, takes place this Sunday, 9:30am at City Park in Glens Falls.

The annual event will see a new walk route through Downtown Glens Falls this year, starting at City Park next to City Hall.  After passing by The Queensbury, walkers will then turn onto Washington Street before coming down Glen Street.  The walk turns right onto South Street, then onto Elm Street and then Hudson Avenue to proceed through Centennial Circle before finishing up Glen Street back up to Crandall Library and City Park.

While the walk is being staged and also while it's in progress, motorists may encounter delays on the walk's path and also side streets that lead up to the walk's path.

Registration for the Making Strides of the Adirondacks is still open and can be done through the event page on the American Cancer Society's page.

There is a $66,000 goal for the Making Strides of the Adirondacks, to which as of this writing, has seen 75% of the goal raised.
