The coach who won nearly 500 games in his 40+ year tenure, is departing Lake George
LAKE GEORGE - There's a change coming to the Lake George's Boys Soccer program as it was announced coach Blake White will be departing the program. He had been coach of the Adirondack League school for 43 years.
Blake White announced his departure as head of the LG program. He leaves as the 17th winningest coach in NY high school boys soccer history, his teams having earned 487 wins, 12 league titles, 4 sectional titles, 5 sectional runners up and regular @NYSPHSAA scholar-athlete awards pic.twitter.com/eTqCRIJx2R

With Lake George, Blake White led their soccer program to 4 Section 2 Championships, last claiming the Sectional Championship in 2014 when Lake George defeated Greenville for the Class C title. They would fall to Potsdam in the State Regionals that year. Lake George would be runners up in 2017 to Maple Hill. In his 5 decades of coaching, White won 487 matches and 12 Adirondack League titles.
But it wasn't without controversy. In 2019, White and the Lake George program became the focus of national headlines when following a sectional playoff game, the team was taken to a Hooters Restaurant in Colonie for a post-game meal. It led to an emergency meeting with school administration with White, but following the initial uproar, nothing came of it, and White was able to continue teaching and coaching.
In 2024, Lake George lost 7 in a row, finishing with a 4-11-2 record after losing to Greenwich 2-0 in what will now be Blake White's final game coaching for the Lakers.
No word who will be White's replacement for the 2025 fall season at this time.
